What to wear, oh what to wear?

That's not a question I'm bothered with most of the time. Not much.

But now I am. Because I have an opportunity to go to the opening of an exhibition... and there will be the Latvian president present in there. So I suppose it's going to be a very formal occasion.

So, please, could you you help me out? What would be appropriate to wear to such an event, when it takes place at 16:00 / 4 PM? That's about as much as I know about it...

  1. How exciting! I love planning outfits but I never buy any new clothes unless I absolutely have to.What kind of exhibition is it? Is it really formal like "gown" formal? When is it, do you have time to buy or sew something new?

    I like this dress:

But I would make an adjustment to the neckline using a very thin, off-white muslin-like fabric :

This is similar to the fabric I would use for the neckline:

This is fun. What are you thinking of wearing? Give us a fashion show.

  2. Unfortunately, it's on Monday - it's on short notice... So no time for buying or making. But I like your idea of the dress refashion! :-)
It's not gown formal, as far as we know.

  3. How about a simple but elegant tea length dress (just above the knee) with a pair of nice flats?
