A Spring walk and another American Duchess giveaway

This afternoon, me and my sister played guides to her friend and her friends in our hometown. Well - we mostly found out we don't know our own hometown. :D But it was all right; and it was so warm and sunny, it was unbelievable. It's great to have photography-friendly weather back. I feel more like blogging immediately. :-)

I'm not going to tell you what my hometown is, but I'm going to show you some pictures...

Yesterday, when I went out to take photos of the Regency-ish necklace, my usual object-photographing spot on the bench was taken...

Nelinka looks grown here, but she's still such a tiny cat. In Czech, I say she's prťavá. I'm not sure how to get the same effect with an English word... it's kind of mocking and kind of fond.

On a completely different note, American Duchess came with dyeable Regency slippers of the flat kind...

And you may win them in a giveaway - although with the number of American Duchess fans, the chances are pretty slim... :D

Completely different note, but these do look very Springy.

  1. Hello Hana, and happy Spring! I enjoyed the photos of your home town. #3 Is that a frog with wings? :)

    1. Yes, it is a frog with bat wings. A batfrog! :D I used to be scared by it as a small child. Then I grew very fond of it.

  2. Ohhh love these 'sunny' photos! And the details in that lovely stone building are so beautiful. Your cat is much too cute for its own good. I just want to pet that furry lil' head :))

    1. Precisely: Neli is mostly annoyed when we want to cuddle her, and usually runs away quite soon. :D

  3. That building is so fascinating! Especially the...flying frog?! ;) Architecture is amazing to me. What people create and do.

And Nelinka looks so sweet and cuddly. Great pictures! It was fun to be introduced to your hometown. And your cat! ;)

    1. Architecture is fascinating... One of my favourite books at one point in time was a dictionary/encyclopaedia of architecture and sculpture terms, with illustrations. :-)

  4. Your hometown is beautiful!! I know what you mean about getting excited with photography-friendly weather; it's been beautiful here in the US as well. And your cat is adorable! I love her name. :D

    1. Nelinka got her name in a funny, roundabout way...

I'm quite amazed by the beauty of my hometown myself; when my family moved here, years ago, before I was born, and for a long time after that, it was a grey, shabby town. It still is in some places, but for the past ten or so years all the beautful architecture has been coming into its own. As we played guides, we found out - what we had taken for granted, somehow - that our teachers, unlike teachers elsewhere, just took us for a short walk to teach us arcitecture styles. There's so much to see in just a few streets!
