The makings of any human heroic figure will always be but derivatives of that perfect Hero. I think I need to make the further acquaintance of some of the heroes on your list... Sweet and rich, but not too oversweet or too heavy. A summery smell. Well, summery to me at least. For me, very distinct - I recognise phloxes only by the scent.
Grandma called them "plebeian flowers" once - they don't need much, only sun (which is why I currently don't have any, because our garden is very shaded). The gardens of Bohemian-Moravian Highlands AND the Baltic countries are overflowing with them in summer. I saw them at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, too, and at Mt Vernon, so they definitely can be found in the USA, too. :-)Hana - Marmotahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03532515160608083460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1569751889486479823.post-83713500086348949822012-02-17T20:12:17.108+01:002012-02-17T20:12:17.108+01:00Hello! Maybe I'll find some to plant this spring.

I like your idea of searching out old places to see on your trips; those buildings have seen so much more of life than the cleaner, newer ones, and are more interesting because of all they've been through.Laurahttp://caterpillartooth.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.com
